The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel is one of the most advanced hospitals in the world. Set in the days leading up to Christmas, the doctors, Matron and her nurses have to deal with an influx of terrible injuries and disease caused by the hardships of the East End or imported through the docks from the Colonies and foreign lands.
