I highly recommend this graphic novel for grades 5 and up. Though the main character is in junior high and then high school, there really isn't anything objectionable in the text that would make me inclined to caution younger readers. In this debut autobiographical graphic novel, the author takes us through her tooth-related struggles. This is a great coming-of-age story and a MUST for any kids who are about to get braces. I had braces for 5 years and wish this book had existed back then. You/your child WILL want to reach the rest of the author's works, so be sure to put them on hold as they remain popular - and rightfully so!
