"One thing about living in Santa Clara I never could stomach: all the damn vampires!" Classic, very cheesy, 80s vampire movie. This was definitely one of the first vampire movies to make the monsters young, hip, and funny. In that sense it's basically Brat Pack "Dracula," even if there are no actual BP members. It's still fun for its cast (2 Coreys! Evil Keifer! Brooding Jason Patric! A rare non-"Bill & Ted" Alex Winter citing! Diane Wiest!) and its mix of horror, love story, and humor. Joel Schumacher, who also did "St. Elmo's Fire," kind of directs. It also has a great 80s soundtrack, anchored by Echo & the Bunnymen's cover of "People Are Strange."
