I got about half way through this book and then just found I couldn't bring myself to read it anymore. I found the story to be slow and tedious without really any further character development. Basically it amounts to the same story as the first book - you better pray that a retired army officer lives in your neighbourhood during a disaster - or else. The constant overtone of pro-military service personal and the inherit corruption of public servants was just too simplistic.
