It is a very small book for someone whom had such a huge impact upon the 20th century. It broad-brushes over all his accomplishments and failures. If you are looking for an in depth book about the man, skip this. If you want just a general idea, this is decent. Given the political climate of today it would do well to read about a Republican of a different era, who tried for balanced budgets, ended one war and avoided others, warned of a military-industrial complex, stood up to McCarthyism and promoted infrastructure. He also was the first to use the power of the federal government to enforce civil rights laws. If you read this book or do your own research, it's a shame that his way of thinking is not more widespread.
