The movie that lead to the creation of the all powerful PG-13 rating category. You can see that as a 'good' for creating a movie category that allows movies to appeal to wider audiences, instead of "families with kids/kids" and "adults". You can also see that as a 'bad', for creating a rating that movie studios would lean on so hard for cash that the rated-R blockbuster is nearly a thing of the past. It's a mixed bag. Temple of Doom was my favorite Indiana Jones movie until I realized how many cringe moments there are in the film. I won't get into them, and they are definitely things that were seen as acceptable and common in that era of film-making, but it's hard not to notice them when watching as an adult. With that said, I still like it more than any of the other Indiana Jones movies with the exception of 'The Last Crusade'.
