I avoided this movie forever because I was sure that it was going to be absolutely ridiculous. So when I watched it today, I was pleasantly surprised at how cute and funny it was. Reminded me a lot of Clueless, which is another one of my favorite movies, but "Ella" was a lot smarter than "Claire". I have no desire to be a lawyer, but "Legally Blonde" is surprisingly inspiring. Loved it!

I love that they main character is out to break stereotypes about blondes and that women need rescuing or to marry for financial gain. She proves that hard work pays off and friendships with those who help you along the way are invaluable.

A feel good comedy about an ambitious and stubborn blonde, based on Amanda Brown's 2001 novel of the same name, and her real life experiences as a blonde attending Stanford Law School. Stuffed with hilarious moments, such as when Elle Woods drives to Harvard with a moving van in tow. LOL!

Witherspoon certainly has proven her acting range, from a slutty teen Freeway (1996 at 20 years old), Vanity Fair (2004), Wild (2014), to acclaimed TV series Big Little Lies (2016).

In this feel good, sassy, and relatable rom-com/chick-flick we get a sneak peek into a teenage girl's life, Elle Woods. She is as girly as it gets. Elle portrays the character of a struggling teen who lives in a sorority full of girls. She is stuck having to choose between her boyfriend and her own education while getting into Harvard. The main message I learned while watching this movie is that you come first! Being in relationship is not going to change how you feel about yourself. Elle shows the audience that girls are more than just a pretty face. With her hard work ethic, she was able to achieve anything! I would give this movie a 5/5-star rating because I love it so much and I think it sends a positive message to all the girls worldwide that they don’t need outside validation to be successful on their own. It is full on girl power!

After getting her heart broken by her ex boyfriend, Elle Woods (played by Reese Witherspoon) decides to attend Harvard Law School to prove to him that she can be taken seriously. Later she learns that Warner, her ex boyfriend, is engaged to another woman. Elle tells Warner that she is applying for an internship but he tells her that she is wasting her time at law school. Motivated, Elle begins to work hard to prove to herself that she is able to help win the assigned case from the internship, and she also learns that it’s not worth trying to get Warner back. I liked this movie because it teaches people that you don’t need someone in your life to have worth in yourself, you just need yourself to know that you do have worth and you do not need anyone’s approval. The movie definitely reminds me of that lesson each time I watch it. I would give this movie a 4/5 rating.

Legally Blonde is a 2001 romcom that has remained a classic in the genre for good reason. Reece Witherspoon plays Elle Woods, a rich Cali girl who has everything she's ever wanted in life. That is, until her long-time boyfriend breaks up with her for a smarter girl and Elle decides to take it as a challenge. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. Witherspoon really plays the role just right, in a way that it's not too over the top. I can also appreciate the character's growth and how the girl's rivalry was resolved. I would very likely watch again. 5 Stars

'Legally Blonde' is the 2001 movie staring Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods (a girl who has it all). She wants nothing more than to be Mrs. Warner Huntington the third. But there is one thing stopping him from proposing: he doesn't think she is smart enough for his image. Elle rallies all of her friends to help her study, apply and become accepted to Harvard University Law a School. She's determined to win him back and prove that she is more then just a pretty, blonde girl with a great fashion sense. This movie is inspiring, humorous, and empowers women. 'Legally Blonde' shows women that you can do anything you want if you put your mind to and show people what you're made of! This is a very good movie and I will recommend it to anybody over the age of 13+ and rate it a 4.5/5.

I originally refused to watch this movie as I thought it was just fluff. Then I watched it and was more then pleasantly surprised. Reese Witherspoon gives a great performance. She is perfectly cast for the part. There are many funny dry scenes throughout the movie. The Harvard entry where a group is sitting on the lawn giving past history of achievements and degrees is priceless. It is a good-hearted and enjoyable movie to watch from start to finish. The movie flies by and actually gets better with age. Revisit this movie and you will find even more subtle minutes of mirth hidden throughout. Definitely a keeper.

This was author's Amanda Brown's highlight. Pity she's a one trick pony.
Her ego must have hurt that her fans preferred much changed movie version by scriptwriters than her meh novel.
Mindnumbingly over-the-top average movie haven't aged well.
I read her Family Trust novel and it should be filmed by Hallmark Pictures.
That's not a compliment with lack of chemistry, too much cliches, slick production & predictable plots!
I won't watch Legally Blonde two with same old over-the-top formula & safe subject.
Not totally surprised that Amanda Brown's third predictable cliched novel was optioned ,but never filmed.
I curious who wrote the Broadway play & if Amanda Brown a footnote.

Favourite movie-quote- "What!!?? You wanna break up with me 'cause my boobs are too big!!??"

Even before I sat down to watch Legally Blonde I had solemnly sworn to myself that I was going to hate this flick as far as the law would allow.

Yeah. What the heck did I care about some poor, little, rich girl and all her empty-headed, bubble-brained, bleached-blonde troubles? Nothing! Nothing, at all. That's what!

Well, as the story goes..........After just 5 minutes into viewing Legally Blonde my attitude completely changed. It was a movie-miracle! It really was!

In Legally Blonde - Elle Woods is a fighter. And Elle is a winner. And, yes, underneath the big boobs, the nice buns, and the blonde mane of hair, Elle has brains, too. She does. And she proves, without a doubt, that she knows how to use them, too. Lawyer, or not.

Believe me - With Legally Blonde it's definitely well within the law to laugh.

This movie had me laughing
from beginning to the end of
the movie! A lot of the people
in the movie thought she wasn't Smart enough to be at
Harvard. Well she proved them
all wrong! Great movie.

Example:

Elle's Mother: Honey, you were First Runner-Up at the "Miss Hawaiian Tropics" contest. Why are you going to throw that all away?

Elle: Going to Harvard is the only way I'm going to get the love of my life back.

Elle's Father: Oh, sweetheart, you don't need law school. Law school is for people who are boring and ugly and serious. And you, button, are none of those things.
