Dan, an aspiring novelist, cannot help but feel immensely attracted to Alice, a young American waitress and stripper who is in London after escaping from a failed relationship. The two meet after Alice is involved in a car accident. But nothing last forever, and after some time Dan meets Anna, a photographer, and he feels attracted to her. Nothing happens right away, but once it does, things go downhill for Alice and Dan. The two don't break up, but Dan is already mentally invovled in the relationship. He is too much of a coward to leave Alice, even though he knows that Anna won't go out with him. Dan is so obessed with Anna that he even paves the way for the meeting between Anna and her future husband, Larry. Eventually Dan, Alice, Anna and Larry take part in a twisted dance of deceit, guilt and anger.

This is a dark but beautiful movie about the complications of relationships and attraction. Brilliant cinematography and an unforgettable soundtrack.

Terrible movie! Not recommended!

A movie heavy on charisma and beautiful as soap. Everyone is horrible to each other, no question, but with the music, atmosphere, and faces it has going for it I love to see them go about their wicked ways. It's an intimate movie. It gets close and lingers long. It stays in your head like someone you met once and said things to you wouldn't say to your friends. v.v. sexy

Was kind of a slow movie! You could skip this one and not miss much!

If the point of the film was to make beautiful people look like human garbage, then it was a success. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth & nothing but disgust for all characters involved. Highly unrecommended.

This is possibly the worst movie I have ever tried to watch. These actors should be ashamed of appearing in this pure trash. The characters were cruel and lacking any morals or tenderness. No one could decide who they wanted to be with. The language was some of the most disgusting I have ever heard. I lost all respect for Julia Roberts, Clive Owen, Natalie Portman and Jude Law.

Great movie with an intriguing ending! I felt like Julia Roberts could've done a better job, but Natalie Portman, Jude Law and Clive Owen did a beautiful job. Shows how love can be very selfish and how it destroys people. Unconventional and realistic.

The dvd box has a quote on it along the lines of "Finally, a love story for grown-ups." Well, I kept waiting for some grown-ups to appear in the story, not to mention love... Not worth the time.

Definitely not an uplifting movie. Well-acted and well-filmed, but you won't turn it off and feel good about the world.

Tedious, bitter, and contrived. Miserable people doing miserable things that make eachother and themselves more miserable.
There's not a single genuine, honest moment in this film...
