Ridiculous. I agree with user Punnoval below. This movie has a high IMDB rating, and many users below are oh so impressed - easily impressed. But unlike the Leone westerns, and others, which succeeded in re-creating the old west with some degree of verisimilitude, including behavior and speech, as well as the heat, filth, sweat etc. that you can see and almost feel, this movie is nothing but a canned Hollywood stage play with well-known actors parading around in Halloween costume. The action is timed predictably like a video game, and the characters speech and behavior reflect a modern sensibility. It's painful to watch and really quite ridiculous - a good period piece sort of transports you back in time so you can experience a sense of what it was like. This film succeeds in that only for people lacking discernment and easily duped - like Trump worshipers, or reporters of the Daily Planet fooled by a pair of eyeglasses.

This one is disc 2, the bonus materials only, not the movie.

After the movies of Sergio Leone, one would think that the sensibilities of Westerns would have changed forever. Not True!
A revisionist remake of the Gunfight at the OK Corral was needed. Unfortunately, this one is not it.
What would you expect if you gave the direction job to supreme schlockmeister George Cosmatos with a monster budget? A sack of wooden acting, endless cliches and holes in the story you could drive a locomotive through.
If you want a decent 'American' western get Andrew Dominick's "The Assassination of Jesse James..."

There are westerns then there are westerns, this is a great western. True, Val Kilmer is a 90's star, but this is my all time favorite role from him. While the "short" love scenes are a bit mushy, Kurt Russell has an outstanding performance. I found the acting to be gritty, in a very male bonding kind of a way. If you like westerns, I think you will love TombStone.

This is a 1993 American western directed by George P. Cosmatos.
The film is based on events in Tombstone, Arizona, including the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and the Earp Vendetta Ride, during the 1880s.
It depicts a number of western outlaws and lawmen, such as Wyatt Earp, William Brocius, Johnny Ringo, and Doc Holliday.
Too much shooting is not too bad, but no climax is a fatal flaw.
The romantic ending is actually anticlimactic.
Much better is "My Darling Clementine"---a 1946 film directed by John Ford, starring Henry Fonda as Wyatt Earp during the period leading up to the gunfight at the OK Corral.

My favorite western. Great characters with great lines. Great action sequences. Looks the part 100% and excels as a period piece. It is possible you would like this movie even if you don't care for westerns. Its that good. Kilmer steals scenes as Doc Holiday.

An excellent and outstanding historically accurate western film. Probably the best film about the Old West ever made. 7 Stars rating!

Probably one of my favorite western films. Kilmer has some of the best lines that can be difficult to catch first time around (but well worth the rewind to hear what he said exactly). Reportedly those were Holiday's last words, though it can't be verified since apparently no one was around to hear them (run that through your head a second time, then tell me if it makes any sense).

I frankly wished there was more of Val Kilmer in the movie overall. He alone carried the movie for me. He gives a very solid performance and his character has just become one of my favorite ever. Doc needs his own sequel for sure.
All in all, the movie does get slow at times but it's still worth a watch. I found the Earp brothers are interesting though I frankly did not buy into Wyatt's love story. In conclusion, I am not a western fan and I did not become one after this but this is a good movie that I enjoyed very much and that I readily recommend.
