I liked this book just as much, if not more than the first book. I originally read this book (the second one) then read the first one a year later, and read the second one again. It's probably best to read books in order.
I felt while we learn so much about I ut the world of the Belles in the first one, the second one has slightly more suspense. Camille is on the run and you are constantly wondering who she can trust and if she will get captured. We meet new characters, including the Iron Ladies. We learn just how nasty Sophia really can be. The author creates a very interesting description of what Orleans is like and we learn more about each surrounding island.

This novel did not really give me what I was looking for to wrap up this story. It was much weaker than the first book, and it did not really expand on the magic system that we got in the first book.

The Everlasting Rose is a beautiful sequel to The Belles. This book could be read directly after the first since the storyline is continued immediately into the second book. I enjoyed the author's vivid descriptions and her captivating plot. The only issue I had with this book was the slow pace at the start, however, that was quickly resolved. I recommend this book to readers who have read The Belles and are excited to conclude the thrilling adventure of Camellia and her sisters.

This book was a great sequel to the first book. The author is a great storyteller that makes every setting come to life through powerful imagery in her descriptions. While this is a fantasy book, it still makes you feel as though you're part of the story. This sequel followed the first book very nicely and I recommend it, but only after the first book as the sequel does not recap much.

The lush world of Orléans continues as Camille learns how to use new powers to disguise herself and attempt to save her sister Belles and the true princess. There is definitely more drama as she struggles with her feelings towards Rémy. There is also an interesting new underground faction called the Iron Ladies that could help Camille's quest, but directly challenges and rejects the beauty treatments the rest of society embraces. Clayton's world does not disappoint in its extravagant beauty and stark threat of evil in the second book of The Belles series.
