The Story Keeper
Book - 2014
Successful New York editor Jen Gibbs is at the top of her game with her new position at Vida House Publishing--until a mysterious manuscript from an old slush pile appears on her desk. Turning the pages, Jen finds herself drawn into the life of Sarra, a mixed-race Melungeon girl trapped by dangerous men in turn-of-the-century Appalachia. A risky hunch may lead to The Story Keeper's hidden origins and its unknown author, but when the trail turns toward the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a place Jen thought she'd left behind forever, the price of a blockbuster book deal may be higher than she's willing to pay.

An evil man who is a hero in a crisis does not an act of God display.
And then... not only is the little girl lost in a snowstorm (and her horse) survive, but the sister’s violent fiancee stops beating her, the sister is not only allowed but supported in going to college, a 20 year recluse returns to the world, fully engaged, and the heroine finds true love.
Barfalot.
I wish I didn’t have so much time on my hands to listen to audio books.
One of the readers - Bahni (pronounced ‘Bonnie’) uses an extreme vocal fry to the point that the dialog they speak is unintelligible.
A single mom, who has made questionable decisions, finds her way to Hatteras Island...a place she was happy as a child. The new home takes her on a memorable journey back to happiness and love. Another great Lisa Wingate books.
Generallly an interesting story about a girl in the book publishing business who gets a partial copy of a story about the Melungeon people of the Smokey Mts. I didn't care for the ending.
ONE OF HER BEST BOOKS READING" BEFORE WE WERE YOURS" AND ITS ANOTHER ONE OF HER BEST
