First thing's first: this book does not retell the story of "Pride and Prejudice;" rather, it serves as a counting primer with a "P&P" theme. Despite the lack of narrative, this amazing board book contains 20 clever and striking illustrations covering Austen's characters, Regency clothing and even thousand-pound notes.

Jennifer Adams has admirably selected key points from the original text and every Austen fan will recognize his/her favourite scenes. A great adaptation that children can remember when they move on to the full novel!

A fun board book that brings Jane Austen to the younger crowd.
