Solid movie, but there are some annoying jump scares in it. Worth a look. But I'm a bigger fan of the TV series though.

IT is a horror film based on the original novel by Stephen King. Directed by Andy Muschietti, the film is based on Pennywise the Clown who comes to haunt and kill children every 27 years. This movie takes place in 1988, where a group of friends come together and learn about Pennywise. Barely escaping the clown during several instances, they decide to stop him while trying to stay together and alive. I really enjoyed the movie because it was perfectly put together. The story, direction, and acting were amazing. Bill Skarsgard did a fantastic job playing the role of Pennywise, and though the movie wasn’t scary, it was definitely fun to watch. I would give IT 4 stars because the suspense created will leave you at the edge of your seat. The film is a good adaptation of the original book, and the story doesn’t lose its charm when presented on the big screen.

4/5 stars. It (2017 film) is a horror film directed by Andy Muschietti based on the classic Stephen King novel by the same name. A friend of mine recommended this movie to me under the caution of it being terribly scary. After watching the trailer, I was super curious and excited to watch with flick. The movie had me captivated from the first scene. I havse many word of praise for this excellent film: Bill Skarsgard’s performance as Pennywise the Dancing Clown was one of the best villain performances I have ever seen. His creepy mannerisms and ability to flip from charming to terrifying brought a unique horror to the movie. The child actors, along with their writing were phenomenal. The talked and acted like real kids would, a rarity in most modern films. There was also many very comedic, heartwarming, and nostalgic moments with the group of kids. On a tight budget of just 30$ million, one would expect the CGI to be mediocre, but it blended well with excellent practical effects to add realism to the fantastical horror moments. Overall this was an amazing horror movie that everyone should watch, provided they are mature enough, as there is some real gut wrenching and scary moments peppered throughout the film.

The 2017 remake of the classic horror film It, directed by Andy Muschietti, and produced by Roy Lee, is a must-see. This remake brought out a perfect balance of originality while also sticking to the plot of the original novel by Stephen King. With the use of CGI and greatly done prosthetic makeup, all the horrific monsters in this movie are truly terrifying. In my opinion, I found this movie to not only be quite scary, but also light hearted at times, and funny.
Familiar faces may also be seen throughout the movie, as one of the main characters- Richie Tozier- is played by Finn Wolfhard from the much loved Netflix series, “Stranger Things”. Fun fact: many scenes from this movie were filmed throughout Ontario, with Port Hope being one of the main filming sites. I would 100% recommend this to any and every horror fan. I give this movie a 4/ 5.
Also, be on the lookout for the filming of It Chapter 2! I’ve heard rumors that a couple of the scenes are being filmed in Hamilton.

Not the most faithful adaptation I've ever seen, but not the worst. Yes, the CGI can be distracting, and what made the book scary, not knowing what is real and what is the clown, is lacking but there. I do kind of like the original miniseries, but I felt that this version is closer to the book, in the sense that the kid's friendship is very strong and believable; but it turned my favorite scene from the book and made it stupid. (The Apocalyptic Rockfight.) Bill Skaragaurd, though, I felt was giving as much energy and effort as the great Tim Curry.

Truly scary, especially the beginning when the warm bond between an older brother and a trusting younger brother is cruelly torn apart. Despite the scary themes, there's a refreshing feel about vulnerable, unpopular kids banding together and fighting their fears of both the evil monster clown and a local, deranged bully. There are rivalries within and the first stirrings of adolsecent love. Stephen King is a national treasure and no one writes better about sleepy little towns hiding deep dark secrets. The parents are either clueless or threatening in their own ways.

I think with It, everybody had informed me of how scary it was so I had psyched myself up quite a bit only to be disappointed. I felt that it was more of a suspense movie with a few jumpscares. However, that being scared, the jumpscares were quite freaky and the effects in It were well designed. The actors were brilliant and played their roles beautifully. Looking forward to watching Chapter 2 next year.

This movie was really hyped up- but it's actually pretty poor. Hell, I even liked the 1990's TV version better- Tim Curry's Pennywise is the main reason to watch the TV movie. Too bad because this remake could have been better, but I guess better CGI/ special effects don't always mean a better movie.

A wonderfully creepy, humorous, and touching story. Highly recommended!

Movie was well done, however was not scary at all. The children played their roles really well, but movie should be considered more of a thriller then a horror

Richie Tozier: Eddie!

[pause]

Richie Tozier: Oh, fuck! Eddie!

Pennywise: [to Bill] This isn't real enough for you, Billy? *I'm not real enough for you?*

Richie Tozier: Holy shit!

Pennywise: It was real enough for Georgie!

[laughs maniacally]

If we split up like last time, that clown will kill us, one by one, but if we stick together, all of us... we'll win. I promise.

There is a church full of Jews. And Stan has to take the super Jew-y test.
-But how does it work?
They slice the tip of his dick off.
-But then you'll have nothing left!
It is true.
- Wait, you guys! Hey, Stan, what happens at the mitzvah anyways?
Ed says you slice the tip of the d-d-d-dick off.
-Yes, Rabbi's gonna pull down your pants. And he will tell the crowd: "Where's the beef?".
At he bar mitzvah, I read from the Torah... and then I make a speech, and suddenly I become a man.

Ok so let me get this straight. IT comes out from wherever to eat kids for like a year and then what? IT just goes into hibernation?
-Maybe it's like... What do you call it? Cicadas. You know, the bugs that come out once every 17 years.
