"Diana McLellan reveals the complex and intimate connections that roiled behind the public personae of Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Tallulah Bankhead, and the women who loved them. Private correspondence, long-secret FBI files, and troves of unpublished documents reveal a chain of lesbian affairs that moved from the theater world of New York, through the heights of chic society, to embed itself in the power structure of the movie business. TheGirls serves up a rich stew of film, politics, sexuality, psychology, and stardom."-- Provided by publisher.

I fucking LOVE this book...excuse my french. I have checked this book out numerous times. I love stuff like this, women sleeping with women and all the spicy details to it. It's exhilerating and arousing at the same time; it also gives you an inside look of the entertainment industry and I can only hope that in about 20 years, we get another book of another generation of women sleeping with women in the entertainment industry.

I completely recommend if you're into gossip yet factual, sexcapeds among women in writing that is still professional, comical, and dramatic!

If you enjoy gossip, you are going to LOVE this who-slept-with-who book! Some surprises (Marilyn Monroe?!) and really interesting details about how queers were forced into the closet in a puritanical, homo-phobic and Commie-hating Hollywood.
