Some of the patterns I would love to make. Instructions are very much for the beginner. Nice book.

This book is just as the title describes it. The first 40 pages give an overview of fabric, sewing supplies, and the quilting process with tips and photographs sprinkled throughout. I loved her tip about using organizer cards during the quilt process! The quilt projects are divided across three categories: Getting Started, Confident Beginner, and Intermediate - which makes this a great book to grow with, as you increase your skills and confidence. Several of the quilts would work great with fabric scraps. With each pattern she includes at least 3 different color schemes to illustrate how the same quilt can take on a completely different look when you change the fabric. Highly recommended.

This would be the quilting primer I would give to someone wishing to learn the basics. Includes rotary cutting tool basics, too.

Very well written, colorful and pleasing pictures, and varied patterns for the confident beginner.

I was interested in about half of the quits, the auther claims they are all quilted on a home machine but doesn't include information on how to do it.

Practical instructions, although none of the patterns appeal to me.

Really enjoyed paging through this quilting book. I am a beginner and most of these patterns are accessible. Especially appreciate the "alternate ideas" that accompany each pattern and the authors choice of mod fabric. Check out her quilting blog for other projects (quilt alongs, tutorials, patterns).
