Do you ever see techniques and wonder how they made something? For me, I have wondered about transparency quilts for a long time, but the book, "Transparency Quilts by Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr has answered my questions, and showed me that this is an easy technique. It may sound silly, but I had wondered if I would need to purchase tulle, or something to cover small areas of the quilt. I learned the transparency technique is a matter of using value (how light or dark your fabric is) in your projects. Riggle and Kerr walk you through the process of choosing your fabrics, what works and what doesn't. Transparency Quilts also includes ten projects, using the techniques that have taught us.
I am glad that my questions have been answered by this book, and the techniques can be used both in traditional quilts and art quilts.
