His romantic weekend in ruins, shy twenty-something artist Perry Foster learns that things can always get worse when he returns home from San Francisco to find a dead body in his bathtub. A dead body in a very ugly sportscoat -- and matching socks. The dead man is a stranger to Perry, but that's not much of a comfort; how did a strange dead man get in a locked flat at the isolated Alton Estate in the wilds of the "Northeast Kingdom" of Vermont? Perry turns to help from "tall, dark and hostile" former navy SEAL Nick Reno -- but is Reno all that he seems?. --Provided by publisher.

Josh's writing never diminishes the second, third, or even the fourth time around. This is a fantastic murder mystery that will keep you on your toes all the way through. And... it's also a very slow, sweet M/M romance at the same time. I love how Nick starts out a huge grump to everyone, especially Perry, whom he sees as a weak twink, especially because of Perry's asthma. But over the course of the book, he warms to Perry, feels a little responsible for him, and that eventually turns to love. Perry, seems at first like a weak twink with asthma, but turns out to be much stronger than anyone suspected. Great characterizations all around, including the other residents of the house they're living in. I've reread this one many times now, and I know I'll continue to reread it into the future.
