This movie just screams 90s. With the acceleration of technology and the dawn of the internet era, Hollywood was quick to jump on the band wagon. Movies of the ear generally went in 1 of 2 different directions, the more realistic computer movies like "Hackers" and "The Net" and the sci-fi ones like "Strange Days" and "The Lawnmower Man." 1995's "The Net" updates the Hitchcockian thriller for the digital age. Sandra Bullock is a computer expert who stumbles on a secret and soon finds herself hunted and framed. Jeremy Northam is not to be trusted. Also, Dennis Miller? Very dated, but amusing. I liked that the filmmakers found a way to include NPR stalwart and Nixon enemy Daniel Schorr. Directed by producer Irwin Winkler.
