For many long years, Atlee Pine was tormented by uncertainty after her twin sister, Mercy, was abducted at the age of six and never seen again. Now, just as Atlee is pressured to end her investigation into Mercy's disappearance, she finally gets her most promising breakthrough yet: the identity of her sister's kidnapper, Ito Vincenzo. With time running out, Atlee and her assistant Carol Blum race to Vincenzo's last known location in Trenton, New Jersey -- and unknowingly stumble straight into John Puller's case, blowing his arrest during a drug ring investigation involving a military installation. Stunningly, Pine and Puller's joint investigation uncovers a connection between Vincenzo's family and a breathtaking scheme that strikes at the very heart of global democracy. Peeling back the layers of deceit, lies and cover-ups, Atlee finally discovers the truth about what happened to Mercy. And that truth will shock Pine to her very core.

The resolutions of the two story plots are only partly satisfactory. Atlee Pine's was well done although there may be a fourth story. Regarding the bigger crime, the resolution seemed like a cover up?

I enjoy all David Baldacci’s books. I know I’m going to get a good read from him. This has two of his major characters in one book. It is more about Atlee Pine continuing to search for her sister Mercy with the second storyline involving John Puller.

I liked the two previous entries in this series, but this one is a very implausible story. Had to force myself to finish.

I am not a great fan of Baldacci's crossover books, with 2 or more characters competing for time in the story. In this one, Puller gets short shrift. Atlee Pine drives the story, but the convoluted search for her sister is getting tiresome. New revalations of Mercy give the impression that we're never going to get a real ending to that story line.

I thought this was a great read. I love of all of Baldacci's books. Of course you can't please everybody. But hey after all it is fiction, but I really enjoyed it. Some times real life stories can get so darn boring. I like the way he crosses over previous characters and mingles them. I don't know how he can write 2 novels in a year so well.

I usually enjoy this author's books a lot but was very disappointing with this one. Couldn't be bothered to finish. Overly convoluted and long winded.

Disappointing. As much as I look forward to this author's novels, this is one I couldn't be bothered finishing. Ridiculously complicated and far-fetched.

Awful! too long winded, ridiculous premise, so many things totally implausible! Thought of putting aside a nice miner of times, wish I had not wanted the time. I have read Baldacci for years, but no more.

I have read essentially all Baldacci's books. This one was OK, but I felt like there should be "another chapter" at the end. The storyline simply "stopped". I assume it is meant to continue in the next book but the ending here was not very satisfying.

I cannot wait to read the next novel with the Atlee Pine character. I want her to find her sister so bad. It took me a little time to get invested with all the characters in Daylight but once I did, it was, as most of the time, one that I stay up all night reading.
