The highlight of this lengthy, low budget, made-for-television miniseries monstrosity? Stephen King featured in a cameo!

I saw this on TV over 20 years ago. When I saw the library had it I jumped at it. Look at the reviews on Amazon ... mostly 4/5 stars. I am not a very big Steven King fan - last book I read was called Under the Dome and it was long and boring and total formula writing.

To me this is better than The Stand and other TV movies of Kings books. The special effects are dated and the production is TV budget but the story is compelling and exciting and filled with memorable one liners: there coming Craggie there gonna get-cha. If you allow yourself to fall under the spell of the story you won't even notice the dated look and feel.

This DVD is advertised as 3 movies but it is only the Langoliers. I had already seen that; I had wanted to see the other two movies. Langoliers is a great movie for its time.

The movies is really dated, and it shows. The idea behind the movie is good. The acting is also as bad as the special effects.

I hope they remake this. It's a good concept, but this 1995 low budget, made-for-TV mini-series doesn't really deliver the way it should. And although it has some pretty good actors, it looks as if they didn't really have enough time during filming to give their best performances. So expect sub-par, mediocre performances and special effects. The Stand mini-series from 1994 suffered from the same problems.
