Formidable though they may have been, Rama's opponents in that fateful building were nothing more than small fish swimming in a pond much larger than he ever dreamed possible. And his triumph over the small fry has attracted the attention of the predators farther up the food chain. His family at risk, Rama has only one choice to protect his infant son and wife. He must go undercover to enter the criminal underworld himself.

The greatest action movie ever made.

There, I said it.

Well thought out fighting scenes and action timing is well done. It's good.

Love this movie a lot of action.

A lot more story, personality, and panache than the first Raid movie, but the crew outdoes themselves in terms of action sequences. Prison bathroom fight, hammer-girl/batboy, and the martial arts/shoot-out/car chase sequence towards the end particularly stand out for me, even as a fan of many action movies. The Raid movies definitely make Indonesia seem like a country made out of nothing but hard surfaces, because they definitely made use of every single one in each fight scene. Must-watch for fans of action or martial arts movies, and the level of gore and the way they ramp up the tension prior to each fight also gives it almost like a horror-movie feel at certain parts.

If you saw the Indonesian movie "The Raid," you know it was one of the most insanely over the top and violent action movies in years and pretty much miles above anything America has produced. If you liked "The Raid," you'll like "The Raid 2." I won't bother with plot summary because, really, who cares? Is there tons of superviolent, awesome action? Yes, yes there is, including a muddy prison brawl, a car chase, a nightclub battle, and a showdown in a restaurant. At one point hammers are involved. Actor/martial artist Iko Uwais returns in the lead. John Woo and other HK action directors are the clear influence, but director Gareth Evans (he's Welsh) has a style of his own. If you like good action, this is awesome. If not, well, see something else. Your loss.

Great, very long, not as good as the first one. Some good characters in this one.

It's not an easy task to follow up to the break-out martial arts triumph The Raid: Redemption. There are only so many ways you can show wave after wave of mob goons getting the tar beaten out of them. The Raid 2 focuses more on plot than the first installment, a smart choice, as another marathon of ass kicking would be tiring. The result is a drawn out, but well-crafted, crime thriller that retains the soul of the franchise: dudes taking flying knees to the face.

Quentin Tarantino, eat your heart out. If you like martial arts films, put this and The Raid on your must-see list. Takes normal fight scenes to a new level in terms of creative action. Not for the squeamish, this film doesn't pull any punches.

The star of this movie were the fight and action sequences. The kitchen fight might be the best fight scene I've seen in quite a while (not for the squeamish). There were quite a number of fight and action sequences so the plot suffered a bit in order to get to those crazy fight scenes quickly. If you're a fan of manic martial arts fights here you go.
