this is such a great read.the way the book goes from the past to the present is well done i sat on the couch for 1 hour to finish it. i could not put it down.i fall in love with olive and angelina and was just as curious as to what happen in their life after olive last entry.i am still thinking about it.

A patron review from the Adult Summer Game: "Ever wonder what life in New York was like circa 1905? Try contrasting it with life in the same city now. Using a journal found in the muff of 98 year old Jane Kelly's belongings, Astor Place Vintage contrasts life then and now."

What a fantastic read. I couldn't put this book down. Very well written with a good insight into NY in the early 1900.

Interesting read full of NYC history moving back and forth between the early 1900's and the present, and focusing on several independent woman trying to find a place in the world.

Great book with double story line. Two single girls living in New York; early 1900's and present day. The photos in the book and historical references were enough to pique my curiosity and find other books about early NYC.

This book kind of started out slow and there were a lot of characters introduced all at once. They were kind of hard to keep track of at first. However, when I got into this book I couldn't put it down and finished it in 3 days. I fell in love with the characters and have been thinking about them ever since finishing the book. Great book!

I came across this book on Amazon and couldn't wait for a library copy. I thoroughly enjoyed how the piece is written because it bounces between Amanda in 2007 and Olive in the early 1900s. An added bonus for my eyes are the old black and white photos of New York. I must mention the ending seems rather abrupt so I'm curious to know if a part two will be written.
