Reframing the Church's Debate on Same-sex Relationships

Brownson argues that Christians should reconsider whether or not the biblical strictures against same-sex relations as defined in the ancient world should apply to contemporary, committed same-sex relationships. He carefully analyzes each of the seven main texts that appear to address intimate same-sex relations, and in the process explores key concepts that inform our understanding of the texts, including patriarchy, complementarity, purity and impurity, honor and shame.

couldn't say it any better than the reviewer above - extremely learned but patient ... turns-out I come to a different conclusion than the author BUT did not feel intimidated by the intense rigor of the book, in fact he seems to go out of his way to allow the reader to accept or reject his arguments ... for such a touchy subject, I was expecting some hard feelings and pleasantly found none to be had - the bibliographical information alone is worth the read (no matter which of the many sides you care to support)
