A great program, with a fantastic presenter, but this is heavily abridged and truncated: 6 episodes ending shortly after James Stuart, whereas the complete series is something like 17 episodes going all the way to the modern day.

An excellent documentary series that gives enough detail without getting mired in it. David Starkey is an enthusiastic narrator. The only episode that was a bit slow was the first on Early Kings - one starts to lose track of the Edwards, Ethelreds, & Williams. Things pick up when moving to the Plantagenets & Lancasters. Looking forward to the second part of the series.
