I REALLY tried to read and listen to and like this book, but I just never found anything to like. It is a National Book Award winner, so someone must have really liked it. I tried reading the book but put it down after a few chapters. I then tried the audio and after one complete disc (1/4 of the book) I still cannot tell you what was going on. I guess if you are into goblins, magic and steampunk, it may appeal to you, but I just couldn't find anything to keep me reading. And I can't say I was a fan of the author reading his own work.
