I first saw this as a six year old (my favorite aunt had just seen the stage production and bought this context recording, on VHS no less!) and I fell in love with the music. I didn’t understand many of the finer points of the plot, but I think I got the basics. My brother and I always wanted to watch this at her house or listen to the cd in the car.Two years later she took us to see the touring production and my deep love of musical theater was fully solidified. I wouldn’t be who I am today without this concert recording.
