'The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore' is a book lovers book and a book for all future, would be, soon to be book lovers.

Sometimes Morris would become lost in a book and scarcely emerge for days.

Yes! Those of us who have been know that feeling! My most indulgent mornings are when I pick up my book and read till noon (OK! Yes, sometimes 2 . . . or later). 'I had to finish my book', I tell my husband.

I love how the love of reading is interspersed with the need to write our own stories. I love that Morris grows in his adventure with the books and yet

". . . as he flew, he changed back to the way he'd been that long ago day when they all first met."

That's exactly how this grandma feels when she again reads 'A Tree Grows in Brooklyn' which I read as a child, or even sings/hears a song the Sisters taught me so long ago. Warm memories of memorable books bring us back in time to who we were when we first encountered them.

'The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore' is full of wonder and a wonderful book with rather old fashioned illustrations that are . . . wonderful!

I love that this is a unique story line. We enjoyed reading it.
A few times how it was worded wasn't perfect but the concept was great, the illustrations fun and engaging and I liked the ending that he got to write a lifetime in a book and then go and continue living his life. I didn't think my son would pick up on that at 3 but he actually questioned me about the ending and why. I found it nice to explain something different then the usual general why questions you get day in day out at this age.

The book is cute, although a little trite. The app is not free...it's $0.99.

I found this ridiculously pretentious. Books that seek to appeal to children and adults at the same time, need wit and whimsy to carry it off. Good examples are the books of E. Nesbit. This one was devoid of both. It felt as if it was written with an Oscar nominated short in mind. We have enjoyed other books by William Joyce, just not this one.

This outstanding picture book packs a sophisticated, meaningful story into a relatively small number of words, and the illustrations are colorful and imaginative. I actually teared up a little at the end! This is one to recommend to people young and old!

This short (13 minutes) animated short has won a host of awards, including the 2012 "Best Animated Short" Academy Award, & deservedly so. Any book lover, librarian, or whimsical person will become an instant fan. Put me down!

The setting of "The Fantastic Flying Books..." is a place that represents what books do all the time, they draw you into their fantastical world's and adventures, and help you to fly...at least figuratively.
