"In this timely and groundbreaking work, Joan Borysenko--a Harvard-trained medical scientist, psychologist, and renowned pioneer in stress and health--straddles psychology, biology, and soul in a completely fresh approach to burnout. Her deeply human (and often amusing) personal accounts of burnout and recovery help convey a clear understanding of the science behind helplessness, hopelessness, and empowerment. Plus, the rich wisdom of people who have gone from fried to revived--including many of Joan's vibrant community of nearly 5,000 Facebook friends--makes this powerful and practical book a must-read for our times" --Cover, p. 2.

I couldn't finish this book. It was too spiritual and lost me the minute I realized she was quoting facebook friends.

I really wanted to get into this book because of the relevant subject matter, but had to put it down not very far into the first chapter. For readers who subscribe to New Age tenets, I believe this will be a great read, but for Christian (female) readers, I would recommend instead the biblical-based wisdom from "Sanity Secrets for Stressed-Out Women" by Sue Augustine. I will refrain from actually giving a rating since I didn't complete the book, but think that there are some valuable points made - I personally could have done without some of the others, but that is simply my opinion on the matter!
