Theresa Flores has experienced things that noone should ever have to experience. It is sad that she slipped through the gaps in spite of all the "adults" around her that should have been protecting and watching over her.
I would be interested in what her teachers and family had to say that were seeing her day and day out.
I do not want to believe that my own daughter could slip in and out of my house without me knowing it. It is very disturbing that this could happen right under her parent's noses.
Her dad was indeed absent a great deal of the time leaving a tired mother at home to hold down the fort. I can speak from experience in that regard.
There is so much damage done in this case that it amazes me that she escaped with her own life and can live a somewhat normal life.
It was a real eye opener to see how this does and can take place in our communities.
My heart goes out to this young lady and I wish her the very best. May God Bless her mission to educate each one of us.

I gave this one and a half stars: 3 for the story and 0 for the writing which is monotonous and cliche-ridden. The reader is annoyingly breathy and way, way too dramatic.
