Good lessons in zealotry and megalomania. Try not to snicker and think, "That could never happen in MY country!".

On November 25, 1970, three time Nobel Prize for Literature nominee Yukio Mishima and four members of his private militia attempted a coup d'├ętat at a military base in Tokyo to restore the power of the emperor. This docu-drama interweaves the events of the failed coup with fantastical, dramatized scenes from his writing, primarily, "The Temple of the Golden Pavilion". The movie features music by the American tonal composer Philip Glass.

The soundtrack of this amazing biography is captivating, mesmerizing. The set designs use the most bold color palette. A study in one man's descent into madness.
