The opportunity to travel aboard the Tricorn--on an interstellar journey to Venus and Earth in the company of her diplomat uncle--is a dream come true. One of Heinlein's more juvi-oriented books, but still enjoyable as an adult read. Heinlein describes a solar system in which Mars is an independent state, Venus is essentially a "company town", and some moons are in various states of allegiance to the Earth Federation. To this mix, add 15 y/o Podkayne Fries and her younger brother, Clark, who leave Mars for the first time to travel with their Uncle Tom (a senator from Mars) to Earth. To them it's a visit; to Uncle Tom, it's a key political meeting. Fro there, political intrigue takes center stage.

This was the first novel I remember reading. I was nine years old and hooked on Science Fiction forever more. I loved it at the time and plan to re-read it soon. It took me into the world of reading and I am grateful for the lesson in imagination and what could be. Thank you Mr. Heinlein.
