I felt completely immersed in the place and time. Fantastic writing.

White Ned Parker and black John Washington work together in 1964 Texas to find who is cruelly killing animals and is now after Ned's grandchildren.
The story is great, but the writing isn't as good. The racism is scary, but truthful for the times.
