[Remember - - the one extremely responsible for the horrible disappearance and deaths of thousands of Chileans, including American bystanders who were tortured to death, was Henry Kissinger, whom Hillary Clinton bragged about his endorsement of her in her second presidential debate!]
Recommended by with one criticism: Allende's suicide is not an absolute fact, given the fighting which took place around and in the presidential building, it is just as highly like he was murdered - - but even if somehow not, if he really committed suicide, then he was driven by to that extreme by Kissinger, Nixon and Helms.
[Also highly recommended book: Story of A Death Foretold, by Oscar Guardiola-Rivera - - the penultimate book on Salvador Allende's administration before the war criminals and mass murdering American psychos: Nixon, Kissinger, Helms, McCone, et al., had their way!]

Chilean Patricio Guzman's documentary about astronomers in Chile's Atacama Desert, Nostalgia for the Light, led me to his other documentaries: Salvador Allende, A Film and The Pinochet Case. I recommend all 3.
