I waited a long time for this hold to come in and I was not impressed. It was well-written and I liked the way the characters' lives were intertwined but it was DARK. I felt like everyone was too messed up, too perverse and dark. I didn't love any of the characters so I didn't enjoy it.

Beautifully written, interesting characters, but a bit diffuse: you felt like the author didn't quite know how to conclude the book.

After finishing this book I'm a bit torn. I enjoyed reading it but the more I reflect on it I realize the plot could be summed up in two words: Bad Mothers. The only mom who isn't ungrateful, whiny and unhappy has her daughter kidnapped. The characters are intriguing but largely unlikeable. I'll be curious to read other feedback!
