Thanks 7Liberty7 for clarifying that the book is about water-based oil paints. That makes a difference as I'm looking for info. about oil-based paints.

The authors/artists use water-based oil paints, so this is not 'oil painting for the absolute beginner.' It should be called "Water-based Oil Painting for the Absolute Beginner." But it's not too bad since you can still get ideas from it, and it also comes with a DVD demonstration.
