Check online for errors in the patterns. I know the tulip peasant blouse and the origami shrug both have major errors. And read the Erratta carefully, seems like they were not listed in order for some reason. A correction to the sleeve was listed before a correction to the neckline. Not sure what went on during editing. I know editors are human and we all get to make mistakes but there is a limit, very frustrating and disappointing. I had planned on making two sweaters out of this book but after the first I am choosing to devote my time to another project.

Okay, well, I'd consider myself "an idiot, but I can knit" when it comes to knitting...and I was disappointed by this book. Quite a few well-known and deservedly respected young/new designers, whose patterns I've happily knitted from, contributed to this collection, but none of the designs here impress me at all. It's like no one wanted to commit a truly great design to this book. Also, too much text (some of the designer bios are a bit self-indulgent) and not enough knitting. And the aesthetic of the whole book is weird - odd colours, odd yarn choices for some pieces, unappealing overall.

Another one of those "I'm an idiot, but I can knit books. Recommend only to a beginning knitter, since all the patterns are very easy. No wonder, considering most of the people profiled don't have that much experience.

On top of that, why would you want to read a profile when it's already been laid out on their blogs? Boring.

Fun to read about the designers and how they got started.

A wide variety of patterns, some of which are graphed. There is a yarn weights chart at the back, if you don't care to use the specified yarn.
