You can't really blame Violet for getting caught up in a murder once more. She can't help it, her ability won't let her. So it really shouldn't be a surprise that on her seemingly innocent trip to Seattle with her best friend Chelsea she discovers another echo. In a cargo container. She tries to ignore it but after waking in the middle of the night from a strangely realistic dream, she knows she just relived some of the person's last terrifying moments, and she goes back to the shipping yard. Still sensing the echo, she calls in an anonymous tip to the police before driving back home and dealing with a week of extreme unease and discomfort until the body, and her mind, is buried and at peace.
But there's more to this story. Someone is leaving cryptic and morbid messages for Violet, and the FBI might be on the scent of her secret. She must decide how to handle the situations she's in- even if it means opening up to someone else and revealing the truth about her.
Good read, there's a pretty big chunk of the story where Jay and Violet have a stupid fight and just mope, so that was highly annoying but otherwise it was an alright read with a pretty good ending. Hopefully the next book picks up in pace a little more.

While this one wasn't as creepy as the previous book, it was still suspenseful. Additionally, Violet and Jay's attempts to navigate the new turn in their relationship was believable. A solid follow-up.

This book is unbelievable... the mystery was not as good as the first one. However, I have to say the romance has stepped up the plate. I have never read a romance book with so much description that you actually see it vividly in your mind as you read. The plot was a little to obvious, but the ending was a twisted and I can't wait for the third book. It is just wonderful, I love the new character the author created "Rafe" he is just so hot!!!!

Interesting change and the new characters was very surprising to me. I never thought that Violet would have what happens to her in the book. It was a good book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series, the last echo :)

oh wow oh wow! The second book in the Body Finder series lives up to the sequel hype. Now that we have the foundation of the characters and Violet's abilities it was time to expand upon all the aspects and Desires of the Dead doesn't disappoint! Violet's world opens up to us even more through the developments in all her relationships, especially with Jay. We see her struggle even more with her abilities to sense the dead. A new storyline picks up and we see where this series could go as new characters are introduced that are sure to make an appearance again. The plot of this book ups the ante with even more suspense, more twists, and an explosive ending. We are left with Violet feeling even more confident in her abilities and I'm excited to see where Kimberly takes this story next!

I didn't think this book was as good as the first one but then again it's pretty hard to compete with original in this case. Desires of the Dead was really gripping and I couldn't put it down for the most part. Even though I like the new character Rafe, I don't really see the love triangle in this mix. I mean, yes, he could pose a threat with his hotness, but he barely talks and Violet doesn't really know him at all where as she and Jay have been together forever! Even though the older characters don't develop very much it didn't seem necessary to do so. Can't wait to read the finale!

Sexual Content: There is a great deal of intimacy including making out (with details) and one intercourse scene. The main character, Violet, has a passionate desire to have sexual intercourse with her boyfriend. She thinks about it and hints, but the book rarely says "sex."
