Well done if oh-so-typically over-done. Not surprisingly, the best scenes involve Amitabh Bachchan guest-portraying SRK's father, because what could go wrong?? Amitabh & SRK together is Hindi film heaven. And then, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji! The guest appearance of Hema Malini is another high point. Special bonus: a firsthand view of the Indian-Pakistani border, including checkpoint.

The down side: LOTS of crying shots, until they cease to have any meaning, and then more follow. But that's been Hindi film style since at least the early 70s, if not the 30s; you take it or leave it, but it ain't going away. Something of the Hindi equivalent of GHOST. 6/10

I love the movie. Especially dialogues and the songs. The forbidden love story with a slight political touch. As always Hindi movies are at least 3 hours long. But it is worth to watch since it has good story line as well.
